MANAGER INTERVIEWS

Managers at all levels contribute to the detailed survey development through confidential one-to-one interviews designed to draw out management concerns about safety and identify the key issues to measure.

THE PROCESS

MANAGER INTERVIEWS

Managers with responsibility for safety are interviewed to develop a clear understanding of – Safety values, Safety goals, Areas of risk, Current practice, Workforce structure

WORKFORCE FOCUS GROUPS

A representative sample of your workforce is invited to take part in a focus group where they will be encouraged to talk about safety on site, the risks they take and any areas of concern for them. The focus group is conducted in confidence and independently.

QUESTIONNAIRE DESIGN

Using the information generated in the qualitative phase, the Safety Diagnostics model research tool will be adapted to reflect the individual characteristics of the organisation.

SITE BASED SURVEY

The survey is conducted on site and in office locations using hard copy questionnaires. The survey can also be offered online and in mobile format where appropriate.

ANALYSIS & REPORTING

Once the questionnaires have been coded and data input, detailed analysis of the results is undertaken – Frequencies, Descriptive, Multivariate analysis, Benchmarking

FEEDBACK

Results are presented in a written report or Powerpoint format, detailing frequencies and mean scores, with significant correlations identified during the commentary.

Process

Every Safety Diagnostics survey is tailored to suit the needs of individual businesses, reflecting the unique risk environment, safety culture and structure. Initial qualitative work is undertaken at the outset of the survey process in order to develop a research tool that accurately reflects the workforce structure and the risks they face. This initial research phase is undertaken once only and is not repeated on subsequent iterations of the survey.

Surveys

Safety Diagnostics will help you to create a safer workplace by developing an understanding of your team culture and mind-set.

Using a tailored site-based survey procedure, Safety Diagnostics measures attitudes to safety procedures, personal behaviour, team beliefs and safety values among your workforce, both directly employed and subcontracted. Surveys are conducted as a census so that everyone has the opportunity to give feedback through the system. The process is anonymous and the survey is analysed independently.
