About Safety Diagnostics

Safety Diagnostics offers a highly effective approach to improving safety on site by measuring attitudes to safety within the workforce. The Safety Diagnostics process employs rigorous research techniques to measure workforce attitudes to health and safety in the construction workplace.

Using established research methodology, our analysis provides you with a clear and accurate view of safety culture in your workplace.  Data generated will provide in-depth understanding of those groups of workers who display the most risk prone attitudes and the impact your safety interventions have on workplace attitudes.

anne-dunneAnne Dunne, Owner and Director

Over the past 10 years Anne has developed Safety Diagnostics, a specialist and innovative research consultancy which analyses labour force behaviour and attitudes to promote optimum safety in the working environment. Safety Diagnostics benchmarks are based on analysis from the original source data of Safety Diagnostics surveys carried out to date and provide a robust industry benchmark.

Anne Dunne has senior management and consultancy experience within the construction and engineering sectors spanning 30 years. As a marketing, research and communications professional she has worked with blue chip companies on landmark projects throughout the UK. In addition to her industry experience she has worked as an academic and is a published author in the field of marketing and public relations.

Every Safety Diagnostics survey is tailored to suit the needs of individual businesses, reflecting the unique risk environment, safety culture and structure. Initial qualitative work is undertaken at the outset of the survey process in order to develop a research tool that accurately reflects the workforce structure and the risks they face. This initial research phase is undertaken once only and is not repeated on subsequent iterations of the survey.

Safety Diagnostics will help you to create a safer workplace by developing an understanding of your team culture and mind-set.

Using a tailored site-based survey procedure, Safety Diagnostics measures attitudes to safety procedures, personal behaviour, team beliefs and safety values among your workforce, both directly employed and subcontracted. Surveys are conducted as a census so that everyone has the opportunity to give feedback through the system. The process is anonymous and the survey is analysed independently.
